TESTIMONIES

Millie is magic. In my first session, she immediately identified a pattern in my previous choices of speeches, which was a game changer for my auditions. She offered an alternative speech, which is easily my favourite speech I have ever done.

Her kindness and warmth made it incredibly easy to trust her with my work from the outset. She is unassumingly perceptive and wise, and the breadth of her knowledge and experience is vast. Her guidance is provocative, insightful, and clear, and she creates a space where play and exploration are inevitable. I always come away from our sessions with so many nuggets to think over and implement into my work.

Millie is the biggest advocate for her students. Having her on my side throughout this process, has been invaluable. Knowing she is always an email away if I have any questions, has been incredibly reassuring. She has consistently gone above and beyond to help me.

I feel very lucky to have worked with Millie: she really is one of a kind and I cannot recommend her enough.”

‘I can honestly say that Millie is a coach who goes absolutely above and beyond for each of her students. From individual speech recommendations, to finding and encouraging the unique skills and qualities you bring to a space, to just adapting and tailoring each moment of the class to exactly what you need that day, the sessions are both exciting and empowering.

Millie creates a working environment that feels so freeing and safe, allowing you to test yourself and push yourself out of your comfort zone and providing a creative playground that ensures you coming away feeling inspired. Each session is dynamic and exciting, combining physical and mental techniques to fully engage you and your imagination into the world of character. Her extensive knowledge and experience of, not only the industry, but the craft itself, has been extremely insightful and instrumental in helping me develop a practical and individual toolkit to approaching my work.

I have learnt so much from Millie: she has helped me build confidence, release tension and connect to my imagination and, most importantly, refocus on the true joy of the work. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to grow and expand their craft’

Having only worked with Millie for a few weeks now, I have already found a space where I can feel seen, inspired and challenged in classes that she provides. Her breadth of knowledge stemming from her degree and work as a director, means that she understands actors and knows how to work with them in a way that is, not only efficient, but practical for long-term craft development.

She is excellent at providing simple techniques and tailoring them perfectly to help me find my own personal route to the characters without being prescriptive. Her wealth of knowledge and artistic references have really helped me access character, emotional engage with text and surrender control. Millie’s work is physical as well as emotional – I find it useful to connect the two in a way that feels both truthful but unindulgent. Her industry and audition knowledge is also very current as recent graduate who’s had the opportunity to audition for large-scale projects.

“Millie is an incredibly supportive teacher who's able to push me to go to places I haven't gone before with acting in a safe and nurturing environment. She’s very good at not taking herself too seriously which works to make the environment stress free whilst still maintaining a professional attitude towards the teaching and work.

I found working with Millie a super easy going and fun experience. I’ve learnt so so much and have had so much fun practicing my speeches with redirection and also really learning how to be on action as the character.

I’ve learnt from the experience to not care so much about what others think and to be less calculated in the work. At some point you just have to let go and be present. I feel a lot more confident performing speeches now and auditioning has become more of a collaboration with the panel rather than a test.“
